Toyah is an tattoo artist and illustrator. She lives in Nijmegen in the Netherlands together with her husband, her 5 year old son and her insane cat.

She has been drawing since being able to hold a pencil and from that moment it was clear she wanted to grow up to be an artist. With a dad being a Tattoo artist himself, he had decided she would have to follow in his footsteps and at the age of 16 she tattooed her first tattoo, a little snake, on her dads leg. The love for tattooing started to grow from there. So she decided to study art and work on her career as an artist.

In 2008 she graduated from the Artez Academy of Arts in Arnhem and received her bachelor degree in Art with a specialty in painting and drawing. After graduating she had the honor to participate in some very prestigious art show such as the Art Olive young talent award in 2008, The Royal award for modern painting in 2009 and the Art Olive young talent award XXL in 2010. And she even got asked to participate in a tv show called ‘sterren op het doek’.

An career as an artist was calling but her love for tattooing couldn’t be silenced, so in 2010 she started her own tattoo shop together with a friend, Double Trouble located in Uden. Now in 2018 the tattoo shop is still going strong and busier than ever.

A few years ago she fell in love with art journaling and started her own Instagram page @kikki.arts sharing her pages with the world. In her journal you can see a lot of different styles in drawing, painting and handlettering , from tattoo art to lovely watercolors of her and her son.
